Worcester Restaurant Group Announces Staff Changes
WORCESTER, Mass., September 2007 – Worcester Restaurant Group, the owners and operators of The Sole Proprietor, One Eleven Chop House, and VIA, announced today several changes designed to strengthen its management team.
Kevin Hunt of Charlton has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Hunt, who began working for The Sole Proprietor in 1990 when he was a freshman at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), most recently served as General Manager at VIA, Worcester Restaurant Group’s newest restaurant. Prior to that, Hunt was a manager at The Sole Proprietor for many years. As Chief Financial Officer of Worcester Restaurant Group, Hunt will manage finances related to all three restaurants.
Brian Cullina of Holden has been promoted to General Manager at VIA. A graduate of Worcester State College, Cullina joined Worcester Restaurant Group in 2001, serving as a waiter and manager at 111 Chop House, and most recently as a manager at VIA.
Mark Hawley of Worcester has been named Executive Chef at VIA. Hawley is the former Head Line Chef at 111 Chop House and Executive Chef at The Flying Rhino, both restaurants located on Shrewsbury Street.
Rico Giovanello of Sturbridge has been named Chef de Cuisine at VIA. Prior to joining the Worcester Restaurant Group, Giovanello worked in the office of the Worcester District Attorney, and owned his own restaurant, Enrico’s Brick Oven Pizza in Sturbridge.
