The Patio Goes Pink from 4 to 10 p.m. today at VIA Italian Table, 89 Shrewsbury St., Worcester, in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
VIA will donate 10 percent of the patio sales to breast cancer care and research at the UMass Memorial Cancer Center in Worcester, according to restaurant manager Caitlyn Ahlquist.
On the patio: A couple of free passed munchies for guests. For a bite to eat, you can select items ($5) from the bar menu.
Expect everything from a pink cannoli to special pink drinks, including Mike’s Hard Pink Lemonade. Live jazz from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
The staff on the patio will wear pink shirts special ordered for the event.
The other restaurants in the Worcester Restaurant Group, the Sole Proprietor and 111 Chop House, also will participate in helping to promote breast cancer awareness.
Ahlquist said 111 Chop House will hold a raffle at its Oct. 20 wine dinner, a tribute to Julia Child. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit UMass Memorial Cancer Center.
Call (508) 799-4111 for reservations for the wine dinner, $59 per person, inclusive.
We’re all tickled pink about the restaurant participation.
