Table Hoppin'

Well, the hype is almost over.
The recent press release from the PR folks representing Robb and Madeleine Ahlquist, owners of the Sole Proprietor and One Eleven Chop House, announced late March as the opening date for the Ahlquists’ new restaurant, VIA, 89 Shrewsbury St., Worcester. The new place is in the brick building next door to One Eleven Chop House.
VIA, Italian for “the way” or “street,” will dish out Italian meals based on recipes that the Ahlquists discovered in Italy. The couple plan to import Italian cheeses, pastas and olive oils to use in the restaurant. The restaurant will offer 50 wines, almost exclusively Italian.
Diners will be able to share table space with others at a central table. Other features include an open kitchen with a rotisserie, a gelato bar and bread baking and antipasto stations. A series of glass doors will open to a landscaped patio during warmer weather. Hooray!
Seating is for 200; private dining areas will accommodate small groups.
